The ISKCON Communication Course for Preachers has been acclaimed as one of the most enlivening, yet practical, courses available in ISKCON today. This is to inform and invite whoever is interested in establishing/improving the congregational culture and skill-building in their temple or area.
The Congregational Development Ministry is offering a 5-day course (approximately 22 hours) in Vrindavana as part of the VIHE seminars, on October 6-10.
Please consider attending or sending to the course whoever works or will work in congregational development.
The course will be completed before the Vraja Mandala Parikrama so the two things can be combined.
The course includes:- An in-depth look at the fundamental principles of progressive congregational development, of healthy Vaisnava community building.
- Interactive workshop on skills useful for leading group discussions.
- How to improve the impact of the Sunday Program, for new visitors and regular guests.
- Preaching as a way of life, for every devotee.
- Cultivation for long-term results.
- How to spice up congregational meetings with icebreakers.
- Views of Children Programs, a precious but often neglected aspect of our communities.
- How to avoid the common pitfalls in the relation between temple and congregation.
- First impression, lasting impression: the art of greeting guests. Models of effective growth in ISKCON: ideas for your place from different parts of the world.
- A look at the ISKCON Prison Ministries work.
Individual fee is Rs. 600 (about 13 dollars).

This six-day intensive course is highly participatory and suitable to a broad spectrum of devotees with a wide range of teaching experience.
It is particularly appropriate for bhakta and bhaktin leaders and others involved in training devotees. Preachers, managers, GBC ministers, communications specialists, and others interested in systematic training and education
will also find it of immense value and interest. The aims of this preliminary course are as follows:- Plan a lesson and write a corresponding lesson outline
- Learn about different teaching styles and methods, specifically interactive and experiential learning
- Practice basic skills of delivery, facilitation, and classroom management

Rasamandala Dasa joined ISKCON in 1973 at Bhaktivedanta Manor. He is now the director of ISKCON Educational Services and is serving the VTE (Vaisnava Training and Education) in the fields of teacher training and curriculum development.
