"Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare" Gopal's Weekly - May 29 Hare Krishna!. Many of you know that our current temple building is very small. We are looking for a bigger place for the temple. We are organizing a fundraiser concert for the development of a new ISKCON temple in San Jose, CA. The concert is on July 19, 2003 at 5pm. It will be held at the Jain Bawan Auditorium-722 S. Main St, Milpitas, CA. The concert features Shreelata Suresh and the Viswa Shanti Dance Academy, a Bharata Natyam group. Shreelata has studied with the great dancers Vijayantimala Bali and Guru Kalaimamani KN Dakshinamurthy Pillai. She has won much prestige and has performed all over the world. She played the lead role in Lalgudi Jayaraman's dance ballet "Jaya Jaya Devi." We are very fortunate to have her at our fundraiser. The main event of the evening will be a Grand South Indian Classical concert given by some of the finest musicians in the SF Bay Area. We are blessed to have Sangeetha Swaminathan on vocals, Anuradha Sridhar on violin and Sriram Brahmanandam on Mridangam. Sangeetha Swaminathan is one of the top Karnatak vocalists of the younger generation and is a senior most disciple of the stellar Smt. Sudha Raghunathan. Sangeetha performs at major music festivals in India and abroad, including the prestigious Cleveland Aradhana, and the Chennai Music Academy's World-Famous December Concert Season. Sangeetha has graciously agreed to perform for our fundraiser despite a busy concert touring schedule. We are very fortunate to have her. Anuradha Sridhar and Sriram Brahmanandam, who will be accompanying Sangeetha, are also Karnatak musicians of the highest caliber. They are well-known in the Bay Area music scene, and have accompanied many of the greatest musicians from South India. We will be sending you the flier shortly, please save the date. All proceeds go to developing a new and much-needed ISKCON temple in San Jose. Go to www.virtualtemple.org for information about ISKCON. It promises to be a Divine evening in celebration of the Supreme Lord Krishna. Feel free to contact us for tickets or information.
